Boo. It's only been a week, but it feels like ages. And there are 12 weeks left til I can see him again!!! Sigh. It's kind of kicking in quite strongly this weekend though, but I guess it'll slowly not ache so much after a while more maybe. So sweet though, he left me a box of stuff to entertain/feed myself with while he's gone! Haha.
Ohwell. At least I'm working for now so I'm kind of occupied. Need to find a real job for after this though! Haha. And oh this is strange but the other day when I was buying teh to bring to work, I discovered something - that after so many years of a Singaporean, I didn't know what Teh C was!!!!! I stupidly thought it meant teh with less sugar (teh si?) and ended up being given a short description of the different types of teh by the coffeeshop auntie after a confused attempt at ordering. Sad right. And plus I used to think Kopi-O meant no milk AND no sugar, just black coffee. So misguided :/
I also hear there's this debate over who came up with Hainanese chicken rice and who owns it lol. Reminds me of when I was on exchange in France and a British dude was like 'Oh you're from Singapore? It's near Malaysia right, the country where people like to say 'lah'?'. And I said indignantly, 'No, lah is Singaporean!!!'. But well. These arguments are kind of pointless - it's like how friends when they hang out together too much and are really close, kind of adopt parts of each other's lingo or habits - I think its similar here in the sense that our countries are kind of interlinked such that we would have certain similarities in culture/food etc. So... c'mon, no need to fight right?
Anywayyy. Enough rambling for now. I'm SO glad that tomorrow is a public holiday - no need to work! Have to go for dance practice though - performing on Friday! Stress!
